About me


I draw upon a diverse background, one with roots in both marketing and design— in mostly corporate, but also agency environments. Which gave me experience in consumer brand communication, managing business objectives, conducting and interpreting customer data and cross-team collaboration. My professional journey continued as I nurtured my creative side through graphic and web design, which extended my ability to create more effective solutions for complex problems. I find I enjoy the challenge of achieving visual unity in a composition as much as I do coming up with an end to end user friendly solution that benefits both the end-user and customer or businesses I work with.

My identity as a Digital, UX and design expert is grounded in a capacity for cognitive empathy, a deep interest in how people connect through verbal and visual communication— and a passion for languages and cultures. Nowadays my diverse background and skillset has given me a deeper understanding of — and unique perspective into — the UX and UI design processes. Which helps me to be able to take ownership towards getting the job done in the most effective and thought out way, monitoring all perspectives needed for the live product to be the most successful and user friendly product it can be.

Lead UX Designer

Lead UX Designer for the EMEA Expert Services UX division. Initiating and nurturing UX practice and strategy. Hands-on involvement on client projects, working closely with stakeholders on enablement and (co)development on a wide variety of UX skills such as Service Design, User Research (mostly qualitative), UX workshops and Sprint 0s, Wireframing and HiFi UI designs, frontend implementation (HTML, CSS, SASS, ReactNative) and building Center of Excellence; Design Systems or Playbooks.

2020 - Present

Essent

Digital, UX and Design Expert

  • UI Visual Design (Sketch, Adobe XD). Designing and developing click- and high fidelity prototypes using Invision, Invision Studio, Sketch, FramerX, Axure and HTML/CSS.
  • Responsible for CRO and usability optimization of several existing and new Essent Energy+ propositions.
  • Leading and executing datadriven UX processes. Among which coordinating and conducting user testing and surveys, collecting onsite feedback using HotJar and analyzing screen recordings.
  • Multi-disciplinary Digital team and head of UX chapter, reporting directly into Essent VP of marketing and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Owner of the Innogy/Essent Usability Lab.
  • Organizing workshops with stakeholders to be able to visualize use flows and customer journeys.

UX/UI designer

  • Initiation and validation of usability and CRO optimization plans for client's websites.
  • Building bridges between marketing, development and management.
  • Hands on design work ranging from mapping customer journeys to carrying out user research and working on wireframes and detailed mock-ups and interactive prototypes for clients in the eHealth industry.

2013 - 2014

SAKER Sportscars Europe

Visual, Web Designer - Marketeer

Responsible for the complete design of a variety of on- and offline creatives. I developed and monitored the corporate identity, and set up a corporate identity manual.

Furthermore I designed, initiated and send newsletters, direct mailings and e-mailings to the international customer base. Attending all race events both locally and internationally I wrote press releases, race reports, promotional texts, news reports and technical info texts.

I designed and developed the new multilingual Saker Sportscars website and corresponding offline creatives in Dutch, English and Chinese. I was responsible for organizing meetings, guided tours, fairs and events (including the unveiling of new models). I attended race events as a hostess, marketing and PR contact.

2009 - 2012

Brenda will take you by the hand in finding practical solutions for complex issues. She knows how to collaborate with- and explain to developers why each pixel has been given a place and how this affects and improves the functionality and the usability of a user interface.
